Tips for Caring for Dyed Hair Part 2

There are many things you can do to protect your dyed hair.

With the magic of hair dye, any woman can be a saucy redhead, a fun-loving blonde or a mysterious brunette, but dying your hair can leave it damaged and broken. In our last blog, the experts at Beauty It Is went over a few tips to help you protect and preserve your dyed hair. Here are a few more tips for caring for your dyed locks:

#4. Wash, condition and rinse your hair in cold water.

Hot water will strip the color and the moisture out of your hair like nothing else because it actually lifts the cuticle layer. The hotter the water you use, the faster your color will fade, so always rinse with cold water.

#5. Protect your hair from the sun.

The sun can fade and lighten the color of your hair, so if you are planning on spending the day in the sun, protect your hair with a hat or a stylish scarf.

#6. Deep condition once a week.

Deep condition your hair with a hot oil treatment or deep conditioner at least once a week. This will help to restore moisture and shine to your hair, and it is especially important if you bleached or stripped your hair before you dyed it.

#7. Keep your hair healthy in between salon visits.

Dying your hair isn’t something you can just do once; you have to keep dying it in order to keep up your color! Using the Olaplex No. 3 Hair Perfector on a weekly basis will help to eliminate breakage and strengthen your locks. Wondering where to buy Olaplex?
